New Rail- Construction over Soft Ground

RAIL FORMATIONS CONSTRUCTED ON SOFT GROUND

The need to construct rail embankments over structurally weak ground is regularly encountered for new rail track construction. Site access for machines can be established by building on the right Geogrid, Geoweb or High Strength Geotextile, but these options can be introduced to the subgrade to ensure maximum bearing capacities are achieved. A correctly designed Geotextile can provide reinforcement, separate ground soils from introduced formation material and provide key drainage functions. A Geogrid or Geoweb solution can be designed to improve structural performance of the available road building material, reducing differential settlement that creates surface rutting and facilitating superior road performance during construction and service.

The new Tracktex product is revolutionary in it’s ability to both reinforce and prevent fouling of clean ballast layers that are detrimental to long term performance.
